Sustainability Starts at Home: What You Can Do
Conserve Water Daily
- Fix leaky faucets promptly
- Install low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators
- Only run full loads in dishwashers and washing machines
- Turn off the water while brushing teeth or washing dishes
Create a Water-Wise Landscape
- Choose native plants that require less water and maintenance
- Install rain barrels to collect and reuse rainwater for gardens
- Water lawns and gardens during early morning or evening hours to reduce evaporation
- Use mulch around plants to retain moisture
Reduce Your Energy-Water Footprint
- Did you know that water treatment and transportation requires significant energy? By conserving water, you’re also saving energy.

Check for Lead Pipes
If your home was built before 1986, you might have lead pipes or fixtures. We encourage all members to:
- Learn how to identify lead pipes (they have a dull gray color and scratch easily)
- Request a service line inspection if you’re unsure
- Contact us for resources and support on lead service line replacement
