We’ll cover the cost of water loss due to leaks on your service line from the meter connection point to your home. No more worrying about surprise high water bills when leaks occur!

The program covers leaks at water service line connection points, including fittings. Without this protection, any leak at the fitting outside the meter pit would be your financial responsibility.
✓ Repair or Replacement Services
We provide up to $1,500 per incident for repair or replacement due to:
- Normal wear and tear
- Leaking lines
- Low pressure issues
- Permanently blocked exterior water service lines
✓ Leak Location Assistance
Our staff provides information and tips to help you locate leaks. For more complex situations, field service technician can inspect your meter, service line area and verify equipment for an additional service fee.
✓ Outdoor Hydrant Coverage
If a leak occurs at an outside hydrant, the program covers repair or replacement of the service line up to 5 feet away from the hydrant and must be out of the landscaping area. This is to ensure our crews have enough room to get to the leak repair without getting into the residence or hydrant. (Note: Hydrant upgrades required by Illinois Department of Public Health plumbing codes are the member’s responsibility.)
✓ Foundation Leak Protection
For leaks occurring at the foundation, we cover repair or replacement up to 5 feet from the foundation. If a shut-off valve is not present, one can be installed at an additional cost.
Peace of Mind by Default
All EJ Water residential members are automatically enrolled in this valuable protection program. This ensures you’re covered from day one without having to take any action.
If you prefer to opt out, you can do so at any time (unless a repair request has been filed). After filing a repair request, members must remain in the program for at least 12 months. To opt out, simply authenticate your account ownership by entering your phone number or email, then complete the opt-out form.
