EJ Water Violations CCR FY2024
Violation #1
On October 11, 2024, we became aware that our system recently failed to collect drinking water samples. Although this incident was not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we did (are doing) to correct this situation.
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During the quarter of July 1 – September 30, 2024, we did not complete testing for Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM) and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.
What should I do?
There is nothing you need to do at this time. You do not need to boil your water or take other corrective actions. You may continue to drink the water. If the situation arises where the water is no longer safe to drink, you will be notified within 24 hours. We will announce any emergencies on local media outlets and social media.
What is being done?
The collected sample was rejected by the laboratory due to exceeding the allowed hold time of the sample. We were not able to collect a repeat sample within the specified time, triggering the violation. We have continued to take quarterly samples and have had no issues with quality or timeliness since this incident. We continue to work with our staff and partner labs to ensure schedule and sample integrity.
