Last month, our team from EJ Water Cooperative had the opportunity to participate in the 43rd Annual Illinois Rural Water Association (IRWA) Technical Conference. The event was held February 18-20, 2025, at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham, Illinois, bringing together water and wastewater professionals from across the state.
Why Solar?
One of the educational seminars we attended at the IRWA conference focused on the benefits of solar energy. Craig Pals with Tick Tock Energy, Inc. discussed why solar energy is a wise investment for reasons including reducing operating costs, ease of technology, ease of financing, strong return on investment, and other incentives. In this presentation, Craig uses EJ Water’s Gila solar plant as a case study and testament to the benefits of solar energy for rural water facilities.
Advancing Rural Water Knowledge
The three-day conference provided our team with valuable insights into the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the water industry. We attended numerous educational sessions led by industry experts covering a wide range of topics essential for rural water systems.
Commitment to Our Community
At EJ Water, we view our participation in events like the IRWA Technical Conference as an investment in our community’s future. The knowledge and connections we gained during this conference directly translate to improved service for our customers.
We’re fortunate that this premier educational event takes place right here in our region, allowing us to send multiple team members to gather insights across different specializations.
