Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to EJ Water. To transfer a location into your name, please fill out a transfer contract and return it with the transfer fee.
Renters will need to fill out a renters contact information form, along with the move-in date & EJ will bill accordingly.
When property owners decide to cancel a meter and then sell the property, we recognize that the new owners did not have a choice to keep the water service, therefore we created a reinstatement policy. The basis for the reinstatement policy is to make the Co-op whole again as if a meter was never canceled in the first place. This includes paying a reinstatement fee, along with any minimums or overdue payments that were not paid while the meter was inactive. This amount will no exceed our current rate to connect to an existing line. If you are interested in activating a previously canceled meter, please call our office at 217-925-5566, send us an email, or chat with an EJ member and we’d be happy to help you.
When a property owner decides to cancel a meter and the same owner decides to reactivate the meter within a year, the property owner can pay a reinstatement fee along with any minimums or overdue payments that were not paid while the meter was inactive. This amount will not exceed our current rate to connect to an existing line. The user will also need to fill out a reinstatement contract. If you are interested in activating a previously canceled meter, please call our office at 217-925-5566 and we’d be happy to help you.
When a property owner decides to cancel a meter and the same owner decides to reactivate the meter more than a year after it was canceled, the owner must pay the current rate to connect to an existing line.

Congratulations on selling your property and we will miss you as an EJ member. To transfer a location into someone else’s name, please have the new owners fill out a user transfer contract and sign it confirming the transfer.
If a member chooses to cancel service, they need to fill out a form. This form can only be submitted by the legal owner of the property. Should they choose to cancel, there will be a $600 reinstatement fee should they (or a new owner) choose to get water back at this location. If it’s the same owner & within 1 year of cancellation, that fee is $1,100.
